Be Happy- "8 Toxic personalities to avoid"

I love Trash!
I found a very useful article for everyone to check out: 8 Toxic personalities to avoid. Our daily lives are full of people like the article mentions. The writer puts it this way- "Frankly, life is too short to spend your time dealing with toxicity. If you can, avoid spending mucho time with people who are indicative of these behaviors and you'll feel a lot happier." The way others act impact us, and the way we act impact others. Let's not be one of these people! :)

My Happy Little Flower Garden

I planted a flower garden to give my front yard a burst of color. I have always wanted one, so I was finally inspired to do it when I went to Lowes Home Improvement the other day. It just finished raining, so I went outside and took some pictures of it to share! Here are the end results:

Cotton Candy

So, I was digging through my cabinet searching for something to eat when I found an unopened container of cotton candy we randomly bought while on vacation in Disney World last July. I was about to toss it but curisoity took over and I wanted to see when it expired. Guess what? It doesn't expire until the end of June 2009. Score! So yes, I just ate almost year old cotton candy and it was amazing. I've decided my new goal is to make cotton candy one day.

Welcome to the husband store- A store that sells husbands has just opened in New York City, where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates:

You may visit the store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the attributes of
the men increase as the shopper ascends the flights. There is, however, a catch... you may choose any man from a particular floor, or you may choose to go up floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building! Happy Shopping!!!!
So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband...

On the first floor the sign on the door reads:
Floor 1: These men have jobs and love the Lord.

The second floor sign reads:
Floor 2: These men have jobs, love the Lord, and like kids.

The third floor sign reads:
Floor 3: These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids and are extremely good looking. 'Wow,' she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and sign reads:
Floor 4: These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, are drop-dead good looking and help with the housework.

'Oh, mercy me!' she exclaims, 'I can hardly stand it!'

Still, she goes to the fifth floor and sign reads:

Floor 5: These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, are drop-dead gorgeous, help with the housework, and have a strong romantic streak She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 6: You are visitor 4,363,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please.

Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.
Watch your step as you exit the building, and have a nice day!

If the grass looks greener on the other side of the
fence... you can rest assured the water bill is higher there
too!

I love it when this happens.

Something very enlightening happened to me while at dinner last night.
I was sitting at the Fox and Hound Pub & Grill with my hubby after a long stressful day at work when "Hungry Eyes" started playing on the radio. A song that I had almost forgotten about, even though one of my favorites. My mood instantly began to lighten and nostalgia began to take over. Then, the first chords of "Dancing in the Moonlight" started playing. My husband and I looked at each other because it, too, is one of my favorite songs. The whole time we sat there, song after song, were our songs. The music that paved a road in our history together. It was like the soundtrack of our life together was playing over the speakers. It is times like these that remind me how much I love being with him. To top it off, "Your Song" by Elton John came on as we were leaving. Nice touch.

Happy Mothers Day

"A Mother loves right from the start.
She holds her baby close to her heart.
The bond that grows will never falter.
Her love is so strong it will never alter.
A Mother gives never ending Love.
She never feels that she has given enough.
For you she will always do her best.
Constantly working, there's no time to rest.
A Mother is there when things go wrong.
A hug and a kiss to help us along.
Always there when we need her near.
Gently wipes our eyes when we shed a tear.
So on this day shower your Mother with Love.
Gifts and presents are nice but that is not enough.
Give your Mother a day to have some peace of mind.
Be gentle, be good, be helpful, be kind.
Happy Mothers Day."

Why friends keep forwarding jokes to us...

June sent in this forwarded joke:

A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead.
He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them.
After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.

I enjoy watching the live link to a web cam in British Columbia. There are three eagle chicks in the nest which the parents feed and care for. What you see depends upon the time of day. If it is late at night it will be dark and they may stop the WebCam until morning. This is the Pacific time zone of the United States. Check it out: Eagle Cam
